Quickly Passes By
Dreaming the night away,
looking for a better day,
trying to find the words to say,
knowing no more games to play.
Walls are closing in on me,
this isn't who I want to be,
Running away every evening,
from the demons in my soul.
No where left to go,
so I smoke another bowl,
and try to take my mind away,
to hopefully a better place,
all my efforts just a waste,
feeling like I just got maced,
Like i need my eyes replaced,
or I need my mind erased,
Why is life so quickly paced?
I got to slow it down,
ain't no time to mess around,
gotta remember what I vowed,
to my wife and kids,
no more stupid tricks,
knowing it'll be hard to quit,
I ball my hands into fists,
and proceed to slit my wrist,
quickly with no resistance,
on that knife we call life,
as it quickly passes by.
