Notes About The Poem

Putins Blackmail

Grain, oil and gas from Russia; we must find other ways
To ensure that the unhinged war criminal, Vladimar Putin pays
They want sanctions lifted and they'll free up grain from Ukraine
Seems like the sanctions are at last working and inflicting pain.

Many poorer countries in the world rely on the exported grains
But it's stuck in ports because of mines, in the shipping lanes
The whole civilised world, and the United nations need to act
Or people in poor countries will die of hunger, and that is a fact.

Vladimar Putins empty threat is nothing more than a lie
He tells the west to jump up and the west asks how high
The west's response to Vlad Putin needs to move up a gear
Or he and his cronies will be thinking, we're cowering in fear.

I urge the civilised world leaders to send weapons at any cost
Or the Ukrainians will be overrun and their territory lost
Zelensky is pleading for long range rockets, to defend his land
To help drive out the invaders and give Ukraine the upper hand.

Russia is desperately recruiting men at home, to join their army
And have upped the age limit to enlist, to claim some sort of victory
Pensioners with guns you'll soon see who are ready to croak
The once thought invincible Russian army, is nothing but a joke.

Whatever will happen is a total mystery for Putin is a sick man of body and mind, he says one thing and does another, an individual that we can never trust, a madman. Could we ever trust any agreement with him, whatever the west does, no matter better weapons or more, he is an evil trickster, and all I want at the end of the day is to see him gone, any can anyone or someone think of a way please, and then we can settle down to peace. An incredible poem. Blessings Jennifer.

War is always a broken plan... there are no winners on either side. This was a well-written poem. Ann

Thank you Ann, you're right, the loss of life on both sides is staggering, and all for a bit of land. So tragic that in this day and age it's going on. Tom

Thank you Belle, Putin has no notion of backing down even sacrificing thousands of his own soldiers. Ukraine has the bodies in refrigerated trains but Russia doesn't want them because the Russian people would see the truth. Tom

Thank you very much Bill, I cant believe the west relied so heavily on Russia for oil and gas, the west should have found alternative means years ago. Tom

If good men don't stand up and be counted then bad men will take over. Right now it's over there but what's to keep him from moving this way. This is what alliances are made for. Good write as always Tom. God Bless, JB

Thank you very much Judy, talk is cheap and Putin is not a man who listens anyway. We should give Ukraine everything they want to kick out that evil war criminal Putin out of their country. Seems the west just doesn't want to upset him. Tom

Putin, this crazy egoistic dictator, would rather see the whole world obliterated than give up his dream of becoming the master of the world. A powerful real poem that we all should read and learn. Blessings, my dearest friend, Tom!

Amen, Tom. Once thought invisible, the Red Army has choked... although never count the Russians out. Never. Vigilance, vigilance, vigilance - as you have rightly called for. Keep that pen sharp, Maestro! Bravo, Gershon

Tom, this poem is so beautiful. Underdeveloped countries will likely starve. Your ideas reflect what we all know. A psychopath attacked unjustly. Putin's warning is a farce, but it's worth emphasizing. My expectation is that all nations will fight this psychopath jointly.

Thank you very much Lasaad, I know many countries are now condemning Putin for his unjust war, I hope they can keep the momentum going until he's toppled from power. He's made the world a very unstable place with his sabre rattling and empty threats. Tom

"Vladimar Putins empty threat is nothing more than a lie He tells the west to jump up and the west asks how high" - How true Tom. I'm concerned that there are countries (or leaders thereof) saying one thing but secretly appeasing Putin. What a world we live in. Cheers - Gary

Thank you very much Gary, I agree with you, many companies also were happy to remain trading in Russia whilst the war was kicking off and but for campaigns against them they eventually pulled out, it's all about money. Never mind the fact they were fuelling his war campaign indirectly. Tom

If all the countries join hands to put up a defense against Russia, there will be some chance of the war coming to an end . As a person I voice my feeling, though my country keeps a neutral stand. I admire your wielding of your pen as a weapon...

Three months of terror. One day the news says Russians are making headway, and the next it's Ukrainians that are driving them back. There's not much left to the imagination after seeing pictures and video of what's left, and how those who remain are forced to live. I don't want to look any more. Those who are living the hell have no choice.
