From Poetry Soup I've been away ~ there's nothing much I've had to say Not much interest in hanging out ~ not sure lately what it's about Now I hear some people are using AI ~ cause for giving a sigh How can they call themselves 'poet' ~ cheat - even if others don't know it Is winning a contest that important ~ NO, so I took time to rant Lately, I've reposted an old one or two ~ sorry they're nothing new 'til PS interests me again ~ don't forget me if you're my friend

Hi John. I'm not leaving, and I certainly wouldn't because of anyone. I'm just breaking away for a while to spend time with my granddaughters before I'm off to Florida to spend a week with my grandson. I'll not be put in the corner, even if my name isn't "Baby." Thanks a bunch for your thoughts, though ;-)

I think many of the people who think themselves poets are not poets. This is very clear to me in poems in Arabic language. I think it is going on in all languages.

Lin, a great set of monoku's and so true. It saddens me that some PS members are so deceitful to use AI or plagiarism to post poems as their own and enter them in contests. There are some horrible thieves among the soup. Please come back for those of us who enjoy you and your poetry. I hope the Admins take action. It amazes me as well how some continue to deny their actions.

It's a sad day when so called poets stoop so low Lin, I'd never dream of stealing someone else's work. Anyone found to have done that should be kicked off the site. Tom

Well I miss your new poems a lot. You are a creative poet. Some people may be using AI, but it should not bother you. Authentic poems can be easily recognized. Hope you come nback.

I don’t think anyone is forgetting you Lin, we all need a break from the soup at times, but a lot has been happening right under our noses, only ones who should be bothered are the plagiarists and AI fakes, oh yeah and Admin of course, nice monokus, cheers David

Thanks for commenting on my Monoku. They're not the kind I'd prefer to spend time thinking about, much less writing about them, David. Things haven't felt right in the soup for quite some time.

I know how you feel, as I feel the same.. I am sure your friends will not forget you.. AI and plagiarism is sad, even sadder when people use it to enter contests... Especially poems that are 100% AI.... sad... yes, how can you call yourself a poet...

You cannot call the creation of another your own. I stopped entering contests many months ago for several reasons, but I never expected to learn that people were doing this. Thank you for the kind words about my friends, Silent One.
