Prom Night Princess

She felt like a princess; she looked like a princess. Her first prom! I cannot wait to get you alone, her date said. She saw his dangerous eyes. She barely knew him! Her dress and hair and make-up and nails were done beautifully! She was marvelously lovely. She concentrated on how wonderful she looked, trying not to make eye contact. She was not even hungry when they started seating the couples. She had not eaten anything but lettuce for six days, but it was worth it. She looked fabulous! How many proms do you go to? She looked up, and her date was staring at her chest. WHAT? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ She did not realize until she had fully sat down what the ripping sound was. She felt the breeze as soon as she sat because her dress had ripped from her hips to the center of her back. This dress cost her dad so much money! She asked her date if he had a coat. He did not. A girlfriend ran over and put a shawl around her shoulders. It was not long enough, so she called her Dad. He came in, wrapped his large warm raincoat over her shoulders, and they walked out of there, She walked into the house, shed the dress, and got into her pajamas. I can take you back, her Daddy offered, so kind, so sorry for her, he did not even mention the cost of the dress. No thanks, she replied. We have the pictures. She ate a big steak, and was gloriously happy, Still a princess, Daddy’s little girl!

What a sweet Dad (and I would rather eat steak in my pajamas anyway!)
