Prismatic Gifts

Raindrops freeze in rainbow of opulence, gracefully strung in finely-stranded rows. Dressing branches in frosty ebullience, crystal beauties, bijoux vibrancy glows. Gracefully strung in finely-stranded rows, lavishing tree limbs in prismatic gifts. Crystal beauties, bijoux vibrancy glows, careless light captured does heighten their risks... Lavishing tree limbs in prismatic gifts, generous brilliant facade they bequeath. Careless light captured does heighten their risks, soon they will deliquesce and fall beneath. Generous brilliant facade they bequeath, dressing branches in frosty ebullience, soon they will deliquesce and fall beneath, raindrops freeze in rainbow of opulence. I adore your way with words, John. Your appreciation for my word choices gladdens my heart, dear friend. I just love the 'china and fine crystal', the shaded nuances, the mind-tickling thrills that words provide for one's imagination. This poem was inspired by freezing rain on our dwarf weeping pea tree - it looked so delicate and beautiful! Thank you, John, for sharing your thoughtful gems with me, they are held in my deepest appreciation. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Hi Susan, I love the rain, I usually go out for a walk when it rains, well I used to, not so much now. I love trees, I find them mystical and beautiful. The true lady of Pantoum. You do make this form sing Susan. This wonderful piece was a joy to read this early morning. Your pen does truly sing when using this form. A fave. Have a wonderful Saturday. Hugs....Mike. XX

Thank you Paul for your glowing comments. Your visits delight me :) I originally wrote this one wintry morning while looking at the tree in my front yard; it was the only 'beautiful' thing about the freezing rain we got that day lol! I'm so happy you enjoyed this write, I have a soft spot for this poem. Warmest wishes my friend.. ~Susan

Hi Susan. Thought I'd go back to one your first poems posted on the 'Soup. And what a wonder it is! Great imagery, sophisticated vocabulary and kudos for some of the rhymes (ebullience / opulence is not a frequent pairing)! All the best, John.
