Pride

As I wear this old lions hide
More than once I've had to walk away from my pride
How many times I shoulda cried
            Instead, I only lied
      What if I had tried
          Actually, put forth and applied
I knew what I really wanted inside
But with my wishes, I could not abide
Was it really that easy to decide
Well, It wouldn't have been the same ride
                     Pride

Jay, "More than once I've had to walk away from my pride". Maybe the best way to discover purpose. Good to see the trail led you back here. -Richard

This gives a lot of thought. I guess we need to have some pride to be alive. I enjoy your poem.

Pride can also give hope when all seems lost. Thanks for reading.
