Priceless

Priceless is the moment which is a memory that lingers evermore and elicits from me romantic poetry. His eyes of ebony; his lashes - wisps against my cheek; his breath soft and sweet on the nape of my neck before his lips - light like feathered magic touched on mine; The feelings he awakened which made me feel so beautiful as if I were a goddess for one special night. I was between the end of my carefree youth and at the start of those strange years when a person's path in life gets chosen. Other boys had come and gone. Others would come and go. Because my time with him was all too brief, he shines forever in my mind - unblemished. And whether he is still alive or dead . . . i think of him the way I still recall him that week (and in particular, that precious night) at the end of my last dear sheltered summer. I dedicate my most romantic poems to the boy from Quebec. Dec. 27, 2022 For the "Priceless Poetry Contest" of Regina McIntosh

I've been in your shoes and can relate to your poem. However, for me, there was no shoe shine. I enjoyed reading your poem.

Beautiful Andrea. Many of us have a memory like that of one special person and wonder 'what if---' But we must remember to accept what is and what was and not think too often on What If. Good stuff. God Bless and Merry Christmas, JB

I love your poem, Andrea. I think we all have a love in the past that still lingers. I just wrote one about running into an old love. I guess I'll submit it.

You captured that special moment of a first love or crush, with a tender yet powerful romantic scene, I think it’s best to remember the guy from Quebec as he was, it helps keep the memory fresh and precious, great one for the contest, cheers David
