His eyes of ebony; his lashes - wisps against my cheek; his breath soft and sweet on the nape of my neck before his lips - light like feathered magic touched on mine; The feelings he awakened which made me feel so beautiful as if I were a goddess for one special night. I was between the end of my carefree youth and at the start of those strange years when a person's path in life gets chosen. Other boys had come and gone. Others would come and go. Because my time with him was all too brief, he shines forever in my mind - unblemished. And whether he is still alive or dead . . . i think of him the way I still recall him that week (and in particular, that precious night) at the end of my last dear sheltered summer.
