Predictable Christmas

Predictable Christmas I know no one’s coming. Yet I put up a tree. I can stare at it. It can stare at me. The lights in the bathroom? I’ll put up again this year. Quite likely l’ll shed the same salty tear. New Years, yesterday’s fears Ring out the old. Ring in the same. Each one is so predictable that it refuses to change. Christmas is for children, lovers, families and the like. Single, solitary souls will simply pass the night. 12/9/19 The darker side of Christmas Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Richard Lamoureux Second Chance Contest' Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Richard Lamoureux

Thanks for the placement Richard. People take a lot of things for granted on the holidays.
