Please step away from the cliff edge Really, we need to talk, come sit by me Eric, we‘ve been through difficult times, but Can’t you see, jumping won’t solve anything I‘ll admit, I’ve been at rock bottom myself Perhaps that’s why I came up here today I considered ending it all, but then I saw you Come and hug me son, I miss your dad so much Everyone encounters grief, we must be open and honest

nicely penned for the contest...creative use of the Acrostic form. You've sufficiently described the precipices that we all encounter at some time. I appreciate you sharing your vulnerability. I was once at a similar precipice. Best wishes with the contest, hugs, Sara

Hi Sara, it is a totally fictional poem for me, but i am pleased it comes across as being factual, it makes me think I have done a good job in creating the scenario:-) hugs Jan xx

Aww James that's a lovely idea, but unfortunately the cost of sending books abroad is prohibitive hence why I self published via amazon. I did look into postage from the island - its £23.23 $29.52) by post or £47.63 $60.43 via courier!

Very thought provoking Jan. I don't remember ever wanting to kill myself, but have seen suicides from time to time. We do need to have more help for people and be on the look out for people in trouble. I really like the resolution you have at the end of this poem.

Thanks Duke thankfully it is purely a fictional poem - i have too much to live for especially with my book publication and I'm working on book 2 lol, it is a very dark poem for me, there are so many more suicides especially with young men since lock down, so many are suffering from mental health issues and nothing is being done, such sad times, hugs Jan xx

Quite a sad scene Jan, sometimes it gets too much and people can't see a way out but sometimes just talking and a hug can bring them back from the dark place they are in. Best of luck in the contest. Tom
