Prayer With Real Gratitude
Have you ever prayed, and just after doing so, saw a danger looming?
I prayed the psalms at dawn, at four hours after midnight
My usual time during the Corona Virus, the global pandemic, -
To arise and intercede for nations, relations, family, hospitalizations
The Bible says, "God is faithful, even when we are not!"
Yes, I have come to believe this without having to cogitate ...
I have no pest problem in my home, where I live alone
After putting my Bible on the side of my bed (I was standing),
I saw a round bit of dirt on my pillow; I paused, then went, "O no!"
It was a nicely fattened bed bug. Reason & history fail to explain to me
How a bug - a single bed bug, if that - got inside my cottage here
I was so thankful to the LORD, as I washed my hands with soap,
That at a few minutes after 4 am, I spied it, removed it
As the Psalm I read and prayed had said, "Fear neither plague nor pest,"
Call it chance, coincidence, but the poor bed bug never anticipated
It would be discovered in the wee hours, when sleep is sweetest ...
Of course, I need to continue the investigation (for family & friends)
But even now ... we as part of the larger Creation, seek It's Higher Will
(c) Deo, 10 May/Mother's Day! Shalom, shalOM & Blessings as we slow down, breathe slowly, and say thanks to someone, for something. Amen
