Praise For Women
I
Long we lift our praises for the women
Who have shaped the world we live in,
Marching in solidarity to gain their rights
Always keeping freedom in their sights,
Amazingly, they are never willing to give in
With fortitude and stamina, they persist
Until the task is completed, they travail,
They are to us God’s extraordinary gift
When given a voice, they do not fail
Long we lift our praises for these women.
II
Jane Addams and Susan B. Anthony
Fought tirelessly for women’s rights,
Always keeping integrity in their sights
They brought about monumental change
Without regard for fame or money,
Long we lift our praises for these women.
III
Golda Meir and Indira Gandhi were leaders
Who guided their nations successfully,
Showing considerable abilities in government
Never faltering to lead purposefully.
Let us never forget the brave ones, dear readers,
Long we lift our praises for these women.
IV
But, we do not forget our wives and mothers
Who go about shaping our lives each day
So many toiling tirelessly, without any pay
And giving us their all, they deserve our best,
Fealty and love, honor, and respect
While they are with us and long after they are gone
Long we lift our praises for these women!
