Portrait Of God

Love is God's knowable
personification, Glorious relatable
Image. An old man with a white
Beard, metaphysical force
No matter -- love is what I
Frame and place on my
Worship altar. The face of love
I talk to. My prayer companion daily,
The receiver of my thankful words,
Focus of my brightest smile -- state
of spiritual grace I strive to fully emulate.
Portrait of my indwelling Divine
Radiance. God is not hidden from
Those who seek love not to hide.
As God would want me I will do my
best to abide.

So beautiful. It makes me sad when I hear of people who absolutely deny God exists.

It is the fault of religious training as much as the lack of religious training. No one in his right, logical, mind could think that a loving God would create a mortal, give him free will, so the chance to error figured into the calculation, and then when some of the created (not their choice) blow-it those individuals are then sentenced to rot in hell for all eternity. With a God like that, no wonder so many think it nonsense. I can explain it, show where the bible, in this instance, is being misinterpreted, but they will not listen. In their minds, blasphemy to question the clear language of the bible. Which is often far from surface clear. And now all these new, modern bibles, with very subtle changes in language. So called modern language...a laugh. King James is yet the closest to truth in my opinion.

This is poignant and well done! I especially enjoyed, “ God is not hidden from Those who seek love not to hide. As God would want me I will do my best to abide.” Thanks for sharing this Joe!

You know, it's hard to figure. G-d love us so much. Why don't we love Him back?!

Lesser Ego -- misunderstanding of who we are at the core. Oddly, ironically, we strive to be really less than we already are. Think about it....

We distance ourselves mentally, consciously...but He never leaves us. We are all made of God substance. God is everything. Nothing exists outside of God. Nearness depends entirely on what we will for ourselves and society. To be spiritually awakened.
