Notes About The Poem

Porcelain Sunset

Statuesque, in the literal sense
for of porcelain, she was sculpted.
So loved by the sun
that before drowning
in the sea, he whispered to her,
"A kiss bestowed on your brow,
to bring you to life.
Live during the moonlight's hours,
and each dawn she'll return you to me."

Lin, I think of this as a poor soul who has no life of her own. Tough to be controlled by a master. That is not for us free people for sure. I could have this all wrong. Not sure. Rock people are too hard to fathom. Smiles!

errr, uhhh. A reader of poetry certainly has the right to decipher whatever seems to be happening. My intent was that she was a gift that the sun gave to his love, the moon each night. Close. lol

This is so beautiful linnersz, i literally resonated with this for some reason and i absolutely love the picture youv used too and how youve titled it as porcelain sunset, and the lines “ So loved by the sun that before drowning in the sea, he whispered to her, "A kiss bestowed on your brow, to bring you to life.” gosh how do you come up with such poetic lines? You have a way with words that deserve more than just a comment praising how beautiful it is! Maybe a fave for now would do! Sending you light always

You know I often write about the love between the sun and moon. This is his gift to the moon each night. Thanks for the encouragement. The picture was a prompt for an AP contest.
