Poolside Relaxation

On a striped deckchair
she reclines, cold drink in hand,
soaking up the sun.

Her tanned skin glistens.
Teasingly, her tongue explores
her full lower lip.

Dark blue sunglasses
subtly separate pretence
from reality.

Wow..amazing crystal clear imagery with incredible depth in so few words. I love evocative poetry, particularly one's of few words("economy of words" is a goal of mine, I have a "long way" to go..lol) your piece is brilliantly penned, a pleasure to read. Congrats on the contest, very worthy and deserved...a fave and a 7+ :-) blessings, lynn p.s. my first ever read of a "Choka", definitely one I will revisit often to study on my "learning" journey...thank you :-)

Thank you for your lovely feedback, Lynn:) Both the high rating and the fav are also much appreciated. I see that you take your 'learning journey' very seriously, but I can assure you that regardless of forms, your poetry has already impressed me...in a positive way:) Best regards // paul

Glad that you enjoyed this humble poem, Vera! The weather here is in the 30s, but strangely enough the sea is still rather cool when compared to previous years. Yesterday I went swimming, but did not last more than an hour in the water! Warm regards // paul
