you're a snake of recollection, once in a blue moon slithering into this head that thinks for me. you moved out of state eons ago, leaving behind memories that still burn bone-deep in my mind. suddenly back, the ghost of you... comfortably sink into the velvet sofa, old friend, yes, put your feet up on the ottoman. i'm afraid i have nothing to offer you, just as much as you can't answer a myriad of questions that continually haunt me. will i still easily recognize your mug? yes? no? have you made an honest woman out of someone? i wonder, have you conquered your fear of clowns? oh, and do you still laugh... with your head tilted up to the sky? i bet you still do; you can't help that. the passage of time is a drag, ain't it? would our friendship have aged to the present had destiny not interrupted? who knows? sometimes, i sit and ponder a wealth of whatifs, wondering... if you do just as much, too.
