Political Respect

How can I respect you when I listen to your mouth You are the north end of a horse that is facing south Your lies and lack of ethics make the bad taste linger I can’t give you the hand, but I’ll give you the finger Your disdain for your constituents continually shows If honesty was dynamite, you couldn’t blow your nose I count my blessings each and everyday You are not one of them, sorry to say If I had the power, do you know what I’d do Put a fence around congress, the world’s largest zoo Incompetence is rewarded with low interest loans While companies suffer and the worker bemoans You tell all the people that you’ll do the best that you can But your owners won’t let you work for the common man You have no sense of leadership, all you do is talk When it’s time to take a stand, that’s when you take a walk If you think this is disrespectful you haven’t got a clue I’ll show some respect when you do what you’re paid to do.

Wow, Vince! You and I are on the same political page (no that was Clinton; forget it,he used an intern not a page). Right now I'm steaming about the taxes placed on people who receive Social Security and unemployment. Meanwhile, Congressmen and other elected officials conveniently forget to pay their taxes. Sometimes I feel like giving Uncle Sam a piece of my mind. Wasn't the scarecrow looking for a brain? Carolyn

Hello Vince, thank you for your comments on Her Lover, most appreciated. In England there is a saying. "doesn't matter who you vote for the government always get in".. do they ever remember the man/woman on the street? It makes you wonder just how far and out of touch they become and really are... great writing !

This is grear, Vince! You are a man after my own heart. We are all going to be so surprized if he turns out to be a good President. I am watching with great interest for this year. I like your method of writing this. I like couplets and, of course, I am a great lover of rhyme. Thanks much for sharing this neat poem and God bless. PL

I second Christy's nomination - Vince for President! Seriously, I don't think one can get to be president these days, unless they are pompous, and bought and sold, sad to say. Well, you have my vote. :) Love Kristin

They all are a bunch of Clowns, Thieves, and Liars, and those are their good qualifications. How in the world do we get saddled with all these losers? Maybe this next bunch will do better, don't think so, but hope so. Best wishes for 2009, Ron
