Political Respect
How can I respect you when I listen to your mouth
You are the north end of a horse that is facing south
Your lies and lack of ethics make the bad taste linger
I can’t give you the hand, but I’ll give you the finger
Your disdain for your constituents continually shows
If honesty was dynamite, you couldn’t blow your nose
I count my blessings each and everyday
You are not one of them, sorry to say
If I had the power, do you know what I’d do
Put a fence around congress, the world’s largest zoo
Incompetence is rewarded with low interest loans
While companies suffer and the worker bemoans
You tell all the people that you’ll do the best that you can
But your owners won’t let you work for the common man
You have no sense of leadership, all you do is talk
When it’s time to take a stand, that’s when you take a walk
If you think this is disrespectful you haven’t got a clue
I’ll show some respect when you do what you’re paid to do.
