Poetic Licence

I’ve renewed my poetic licence
Just hope it won’t ever expire

Poetry has become a bit of an addiction
My words can be fact or they could be fiction

But I plan to keep on writing quite a bit
Even if you think my poems are a heap of rubbish!*

* Can't think of a suitable rhyming word :-)

Hi Jan, one thing i can assure you of, your work is never rubbish or the word you wanted to use. No swearing, i may soon get the sack. You keep on writing and write from the heart. Your words mean a lot to many people, you write for yourself, you write for them and you write in your own style. Your licence shall never expire as far as i am concerned. Write for your own enjoyment and let know one change you ever. You belong. A seven Jan....MIKE.

I love the sentiment and the humor. Just a suggestion ..."unfit" rhymes with bit. I'm not saying your poem is unfit. I'm simply answering your loud thought at the end.

G'day Jan... addiction is the one word that sticks out for me Jan, but I find writing is a wonderful addiction, so make sure that you stay addicted. By doing so, you make this world a better place - thank you Jan - Lindsay

you need a word to rhyme with bit....that's my specialty, I admit....and sometimes I do get fits....that's when I roll up and sit....listen to hip hop, they way they spit....and when I am high enough, its always another hit....;)

dear Jan, you don't always need rhyming words, a word from you reaches the whole world, they continue to stab with imaginations like sword, you are just good as you are, and that I really adore, especially your humour....a beautiful write you've done here

That is true-ish about rubbish - all that is coming to mind is snubish which isn't a word so now you have me laughing. I love this creative little ditty! CayCay

You could say: Even if you could not care one whit! Good one, Jan!! I did a poetic license poem myself after my first year or two of writing, just like you!

lol I think I know the word you were going to use for the final rhyme. haha (may have used that one myself in one of mine). ; ) Well keep that licence current you have plenty of writing to do yet!
