Poet Vs the Poem Or Enjoy the Rush

Poetry often seems to choose
its poet, how words fly
out of the writer's hand, almost
thoughtlessly – like bats from a cave 
at sunset, attacking paper, as would a swarm
of carnivorous appetite.

If I have to read it twice then disect it line for line and still cant work out the meaning.. I give up. This not the case. I enjoyed this one. Dogs are really more like hands-on needy family, and cats more like bosses, which I have grown accustomed to ignoring over the years -- certain that both Pavlov and his dog were conditioned by Pavlov's cat. Train, learn...and it will happen. As with each of us, having an individual spirit, so poetry has a group spirit, producing its beauty and guarding its significance. My opinion, that is all.
