Poet Vs the Poem Or Enjoy the Rush

Poetry often seems to choose its poet, how words fly out of the writer's hand, almost thoughtlessly – like bats from a cave at sunset, attacking paper, as would a swarm of carnivorous appetite.

Are we really all THAT bad Joe ? Unfortunately a lot of what makes sense to others makes no sense to me. If I have to read it twice then disect it line for line and still cant work out the meaning.. I give up. This not the case. I enjoyed this one. Cheers

Thank you, Wen; I am probably good and bad...my best, somewhere I am have yet to find:) May take some more poems. Love your Bullmastiff! Tempting to get one, but my cats give me more of the space I need. Dogs are really more like hands-on needy family, and cats more like bosses, which I have grown accustomed to ignoring over the years -- certain that both Pavlov and his dog were conditioned by Pavlov's cat. As long as whatever you write, makes sense to you...that is enough. In my opinion. If others enjoy what you have said, seem to find greater value in the write, then maybe your voice was also God's opinion. Blessings my friend.

I believe what you are saying is that everyone is a poet but not everyone can write poetry and I agree to certain point. verbalizing the poetry one sees and feels is like anything else. The more one does it, the easier it gets. Cool write, Joe.

I believe poetry is like sun bathing: one prepares himself, puts on the lotion and positions the chair -- and then the sun does its work. Train, learn...and it will happen. As with each of us, having an individual spirit, so poetry has a group spirit, producing its beauty and guarding its significance. My opinion, that is all.
