there was
a moment
an incredible second
when i dared to cross
the invisible line
built with such great care
between us
to protect
our gentle
silent secrets
how could i know
there would only be
one of you
and yet
in a single heartbeat
devoid of reason
or restraint
i crossed into your world
discovering you
my true first love
within my grasp
and within
my life
how would i know
there could only be
one of you
