Plums

Plums! What delightful treats

Purple ones very good

Please let's eat, big red ripe

Plump, straight from the shapely

Pleasing green stocky tree

People like them simply 

Prepared as royal's fare

Paul, Yes, I remember as a child eating those that grew wild beside the road. They were so good. The tame ones that we grew in our garden were even better. I think I shall try to find one and plant it this year. Maybe God will allow me to eat the fruit there upon in a few years. Thanks for dropping by with congrats and sharing. Sara

They are very good for us but I chose my food because I prefer salty foods over sweet ones!! Great choice for a P food word, Sara. Congrats on your win. I think prunes, by the way, are DRIED plums, right? I had those just today (do not really care for them but they are best fruit for women!!)

Andrea, Yes, prunes are a specific type of plum. Those that are a very deep color nearly black looking. They are a really good plum and I enjoy them dried as well as prunes. My husband had a surgery and we could not get his bowels to move. We had tried everything so I asked my daughter to stop by the store and bring me a large container of prune juice. My husband got up in the middle of the night and drank a whole quart of prune juice. Well, need I say more. I like a little salt on a plum, an apple and salt and pepper on cantaloupe but I have to be very careful with salt. Sara

Plums are some of my favorites, love those sweet juicy purple ones - have you ever had a pluot? It's a combo of a plum/apricot (I wrote my poem on them) not easy to find but I recommend them if you can find them~

Michelle, I haven't tried one. We don't go to the grocery store now. I order online and my husbands goes to pick them up. I tried it on Walmart and they don't have it so I would have to wait until they get it in. There used to be a plum peach cross which was a delicious fruit but I only had it on a tree that we had it and it died. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Richard, I knew there would be someone or people out there that didn't like them but we all have our own favorites plus sometimes people have allergies. Green plums from some varieties are good with a little salt but some varieties are bad, very bitter green so it could be if you tried a different variety or several different varieties you might find one you like.
