Please Listen To the Children

I am always shocked When a second grader cannot tell me One single thing they like to do for fun. I am always surprised When a third grader has no idea whether they have a hobby or not Yesterday I asked a fourth grader if he had time to run an errand for me. He said “I don’t know. What is an errand?” Our society needs to listen to our children. And if society cannot, can the grandma’s? So many do not even know their grandmas or their dad either. I am always shocked Because these are things so easily fixed All we need are the listeners. Please listen to the children. Please sign up to be a mentor at a grade school. Please listen to them read, and help them learn math. You will be forever changed, and so will the child to whom you listen.

It's sad for our society that anyone has to suggest this; children should be everyone's focus since they are the world's future. The future depends on what you nurture in a child, today.

It is sad, but it is SOUND; please listen to me, we need ALL of you to run to the grade schools and volunteer. Children are waiting!

It just amazes me with this calibre of poetry, why no adults (parents or not) bite. If more adults listened to children they would hear their past and be able to help their future. NEVER EVER close your ears or your eyes to the children. x Beautiful poem Krutsinger. People need to open their eyes to this poem and their ears to the children. x

I am always promoting "getting outside yourself", running down to the local grade school and listening to the children. They need you more than ever, S, if you have the time!
