Please Just One More Letter

Just one more letter from you
Delivered from an angel to my door
To see that familiar handwriting
Read your precious words once more

You so loved writing letters
On small paper you did pen
Letters full of who you were
I long to receive again

Never a confident speller
Blank spaces left for spelling check
Though you always forgot to write them in
Left for me to detect!

It’s been so many years now
You would have so much to share
All about your cosy home in heaven
And the friends you’ve made up there

I would make myself a latte
In my beautiful garden I would sit
Savour every word you wrote
Keep your letter close… and never let go of it!

As I write this poem about you
My being aches, tears fall again
Please write me one more letter
Sender: Mum from Heaven…..

I miss you my sweet mum x

Heart-wrenching, Deb. Every word straight from your heart to heaven. Truly beautiful. So touching. Hope and Heaven, Gershon

Nothing is ever so moving as a letter from mom when you are far away. Deb, your poem is both poignant and sad, but exceptionally well-written.
