Playing Victim
Perched on a pole
in my invisible box
One foot outside
and I'd have to detox
All warm and cozy,
rich of false security
Outside my square
lies a world of uncertainty
I think I'll stay here
move side to side
Doing flips around my pole
is a thrilling ride
What if I found
I couldn't fly
I'd rather not know
I'd rather not try
At least this way
I can save a little face
If my wings are unsound
I will be a disgrace
You See, I have balance
A big fish in a little pond
It's not like I can soar high
with a wave of your wand
I think I was meant
to live a subtle existence
Meeting minimum requirements
facing little resistance
The others had it easy
Eating on a silver spoon
My life has been a struggle
A tear jerking tune
I'm perfectly happy
Keeping my dreams
In my sleep
How rude of you to inquire
Why I constantly weep
You don't know who I am
You don't know me at all
You think your so smart
But what if I fall
God may have forgotten
To give me a purpose
The others may say
I belong in a circus
So run along
Leave me to sulk
I'll be dreaming tonight
I'm the Incredible Hulk
