Pitch-Black Terror

What seems dull by day Flashes peril by night Sparks far away A trembling fright The rustling of trees Noontide's gentle wind On nighttime's breeze Nearly do me in Night's shadow amplifies What bright days minimize Pitch-black terror underlies The scream of the Evil Eye

It is weird to me how a little bit of darkness can increase fear so fast!

Hello Gershon … the night is not meant to be our time, but there is a world of intriguing creatures that give us the heebies when we intrude in their domain - thanks Gershon - Lindsay

Never liked the dark, always felt something bad lurked there. I was playing hide and seek with my son, he was about seven - mom I always find you - OK I said - went into my bedroom, shut the light and called Ricky, but I put my hand over the switch. When he came to the bedroom he put his hand out to put the light switch on - to this day I regret what I did, he got such a fright when he felt my hand he screeched and cried, felt like the worst mom in the world - I adore Ricky! Written creatively Gershon. Blessings, Jenn.

Gershon, What is it that draws near? Wonderful intrigue unfolded in this foreboding poem. I read it in the voice of Vincent Price the second time through. -Richard

I must still be a child, as my heart beats louder at night out of doors. Thanks, Charlie. All is well here; hope the same is true by you! Cheers, Gershon
