My daughter and I love pistachios. We also agree our favorite color is green. She asked me to write this in honor of national pistachio day:

So often the nut meats we find Experience life as a grind So let's not spread Their butter instead Eat them whole on this day enshrined

Pistachios are my best nuts - in fact I lose count of how many I've eaten once I start! Definitely i do not eat those put to the grind nor do I buy Pistashio butter in a bottle, what pleasure in either, I eat them after they have been roasted in their shells and broken a couple of finger nails opening them, or delight in biting them open. It is in fact a ritual with us Greeks. Loved the Limerick and glad i found kindred spirits in you and your daughter and pistachios! Hugs, blessings, Jenn.

I am glad. I just discovered a bag of pistachios someone hid from me in a cabinet. We try to share good nuts.

A great limerick. I love nuts and they are healthful. This poem spreads words smoothly.

Hilda, almonds walnuts and pistachios are considered very good for us. I get the pun you made. It's not easy to eat healthy. I'll have more to say about that in my next limerick!

Dear Duke, This is a clever ode to these delicious nuts! I love the pun on "grind" and the playful suggestion to celebrate them whole. It's a lighthearted reminder to appreciate life's simple pleasures, including savoring a pistachio's unique texture and taste. My go-to snack!! Well done! - Blessings, Daniel

Daniel, you are so very thorough when you chew on anyone's work. It's remarkable as I myself see it takes time to analyze some of the work published here and make a meaningful response. You have something amazing going for you, sir! I do believe you love poetry and philosophy and it shows!

Vijay, it seems we have a day for almost everything. For example, tomorrow is national science day and national pancake day. It may have something to do with sales enhancement! The US has a highly commercialized society.

Only last week in Turkey my daughter and I polished off a bag between us. Just love that savoury taste. Tom

Tom, we sometimes take trips together with our kids who are both in their 40s. We don't know many people doing that sort of thing. While in New Mexico, we visited a farm that grows pistachios (Heart of the Desert). Not a major tourist attraction but interesting nevertheless.

A sweet thing to do for your daughter, a gift of a limerick by the Limerick Master. Someday I hope to be able to write Limericks like you, Duke. They are awesome! A new poet friend in Texas, Bill

Bill, my guess is you could write limericks as well as or better than I. Your poetry is marvelous, and I am sure we will be reading each other's work often. Looking forward to it.
