Pinch of Desire
Engulfed with this incredible desire
to pinch off a piece of this summer deluxe
to stash in tin rust, to wrap in silk scarves,
to be opened in the hush blackened cold,
I open my notebook to jot down a song
with a voice scratched in metal and milk and in ink
to savour this moment, to slow the earth's orbit
to fill me back up and transport me to home
The words are still shaking from thoughts racing from me
too incredibly fast as I know they won't wait
like humming bird hovers and bumble bee glances
and sun which connects with your bones
The wink and the whisper from moments we listen
seep scarlet and blue into all that we are
to cinder spark wonder, to soak and to ponder
a pinch of desire to transport me to home..
