Pilate Syndrome

Don't blame me for
the will of the people!

Though I live, here, yet
I remain, above all
common fray – pure
as crisp mountain snow,
or a morning's rising sun

l freshly seek to coat
with light, each new hopeful day.

Don't blame me!
Peace be with you;
I need only face the Light –

God having my back...

though also resides in
Him, were He so to
exercise, power over all~
including life's dark seeming
impenetrable Nights.

Don't blame me,
though I know Man's Free Will
precedes exhibition of both
happy and sad; but I am
only responsible for my good,
and not others world of historical bad –

Don't blame me,
I will appeal such charges
to Heaven, for I am already
forgiven

If need-be, for comparison
the Devil my corroborating
witness...

“God saw everything that He made,
and behold, it was good”?

God created everything good. It is man who plants the weeds.

Hi Victor; thank you. Wisely put. If only more people would understand that "Free Will" is an awesome power -- man can make or break worlds. Blessings my friend.

Not pointing the finger at you, what He created was good, but mankind did stuff it up. Not sure which one of us was to blame. Guess whoever this mankind guy is, he should hang his head in shame. .....Loved your poem Joe.

Hi Wen. Mankind guy:) Love it. I hear often, from many religious folks, how the world is evil...and it always will be. 2,000 years have passed and not a whole lot has really changed. Hmm.... I scratch my head.... The world (which God created, good) is evil~ maybe they have a different bible than the one I have. -- Maybe we still don't get (I give man dominion). The entire world is a reflection of our entire selves~ Free Will. From the ground we walk on, to the air we breathe, to the babies sliced from their mother's womb. Oops! Now comes the hate mail. Maybe no one gets to heaven, till everyone gets to heaven. Maybe we move as one body, one humanity within the omnipotence of God. Not till "heaven on earth, Amen". Blessings my friend.
