Pierced By Love

The pain within that pierces deep is like the prick of rose’s thorn and leaves my meager mind to mourn while yearning for eternal sleep. These tristful tears from my soul seep like winter’s chill on summer morn are but a sign of love forlorn that causes weary will to weep. While gazing in her soft green eyes I thought that love was here to stay, but now I find my hope’s demise is just the guise of flower’s way; for underneath her beauty lies the thorn with which her wiles betray. A heart betrayed - finding the truth about a lover - a truly devastating experience for the heart. I was taken by your phrase, "yearning for eternal sleep." Let's hope this soul can find a way to go on, John. Congratulations on your win!

Every rise has it's thorns and though some may be worse than others nothing is perfect. Only those we love can really hurt us. Those we don't love we couldn't care less if we tried. True love suffers all things. Great write here my friend. God Bless and thanks for stopping by my page. JB

Roses have thorns- so one must be careful while holding them. Your thoughts hold many emotions. May your heart always feel the tender touch that love brings. My dear sweet friend. Hugs, Brandy

It s very difficult for someone else to fit the shoes of a lost love The memories are ingrained forever, and new ones seem almost fickle. Breathtaking poem. a fave. Blessings Jennifer.

The agony of lost love stings from the pierce of that thorn. An Italian Sonnet, worthy of weeping.
