Picture of Bleeding Words

Many voices play in my head
trying to overcome what was declared;
knots of blaming words litter hazy thoughts
in cracks of evening as I plead for silence.
But a litany of defenses grinds on
as I blindly look up, framing a starlight
to assuage this deep tug of anguish.

There is still to learn from a life
where own feelings are not heard,
a lament within my mouth closing
each time  you explode, unaware
of my need for some respect--
yes, I am just a young lad so used
to fatherly commands which drain me
like a wounded, street animal
being reproached without fairness---
and only you must bear the consequence
when I free these hands, screaming
back until we both bleed.
