Picture-Taking

On a summer break from college, When I traveled ‘cross the sea, My new Instamatic camera Made the trip (plus film) with me. Later on, I graduated To a camera with a case And the kind of film you had to wind, Much harder to replace. Thus, for parties or vacations, I would always be prepared To snap pictures then make copies So the images were shared. That was all before our cell phones Came with cameras installed. Now I’m always at the ready If a photo moment’s called. When technology’s updated, I am mostly quite inept, But I so prefer my iPhone To the cameras I once schlepped.

great write ilene - my only visit to nyc was in 1976, documented with an instamatic... very convenient but now the old photographs look so grainy compared to today's technology... my kids are too young to remember photo developing kiosks.

I'm with you, Ilene. I have had expensive 35mm cameras, made thousands of slides and now they are all gone! It was such a waste. I finally decided not to take pics of vacations because folks don't want to see them, and besides, let them go there on their own. Still I take some on my cellphone for my own enjoyment or to show something if the subject comes up. Loved the poem!

I do not know how to use a camera phone, but can see from America's Funniest Videos how convenient they are! Nothing beats family photos of happy faces! Aloha!

This reminds me that I used to have an expensive camera that I loved so much but now I have no idea where it is.
