Picnics and Sand

Now I know that beach side picnics and sand
No matter how careful the planning go hand in hand
But it seems whether you sit or whether you stand
Nothing quite goes as you had planned

It doesn't really care where it goes
And I don't just mean between your toes
In your eyes and up your nose
And it doesn't smell like a bleeping rose!

In my shoes and down my shorts
I believe with demons this stuff consorts
To going naked I might resort
And I know I've swallowed at least a quart

When this picnic is over and back home I go
To the warm water of the showers flow
I'll wonder if your troubles are the same as mine
Do you have sand stuck where the sun doesn't shine?

Ha ha I loved your last line! There are some places the sun refuses to even go... funny stuff! Though I live ten hours from the sea, by car, I really do love the ocean. Even the pesky sand in unspeakable areas is worth the trip!

Hahahaha, oh yes the feeling has been felt. I was tossed around in the Atlantic Ocean like a dish rag. Legs and arms skinned raw. Blood, sand and who knows what other things that were grounded into skin and clothes. I needed a good laugh tonight. Surgery is two days a way. Thanks Donna for sharing your delightful poem. Warm Smiles Always, Connie.

Dear Donna,Hope this finds YOU Healthy and High in the Spirit. Funny I like this Believe it or not I have a fresh water beach 500 feet behind the cabin. I've been on Pic-nics and yes sand where the Sun doesn't shine Superb PEN, -- As far as the Sonnet for Andrea I did it wrong All the sonnets I've read today are 10 silables per line Mine very between 10 and 13 "If at First YOU don't succeed-" If the contest were sponsored by Francine Roberts it would not be considered.I don't know Richard
