Perfumed Garden

Perfumed Garden

Twilight calls in soft floral amber lights,
Delicate in the scent of memory,
To fragile bowers of fragrant delights -
Saffron smiles wrapped in scented mystery.

Sinuous silk plumerias of myrrh
‘Twine satin fingertips ‘neath musky mantles
When gossamer hues of incense demur
Bluebellvines bloom in soft chimes with candles.

Tender scents of tuberose, sweet jasmine,
Float from this shy perfumed garden glen
Petals spread wide as lotus buds begin
To welcome gentle moonbeams touch again.

Trembling seeds arouse spice scents on bloom's skin
As in pure union harmony ascends.

Hi Belle! So wonderful to hear from you! I didn't know much about tuberose either. But, that being said, will be looking for tuberose bulbs this fall to plant in the garden for next spring and summer. We have star jasmine and gardenia that perfume the summer night garden. Can't wait to add the tuberose to the scent. I'm so happy you enjoyed this garden tour! Thank you for your lovely words of compliment! Hope you are doing well. Blessings and all the best.

Thank you so much Heidi! I do love gardens. After composing this poem and researching flowers that bloom in at night have decided to plant more night blooming flowers like tuberose to go along with our star jasmine and gardenias so we can build more perfume for the garden. I have a rule of thumb, a plant has to be drop dead gorgeous or have a beautiful scent to find a place in my garden. Sending you blessings!

Thank you so much Milt. This garden truly does invite one to "meander" (love that concept) enjoying the evening sights and scents. And, it is a place of quiet harmony! I so appreciate our feedback! Thank you again!
