Maybe one of the most overlooked things in life is the smells around us and why we like them. This poem attempts to maybe throw some ideas out about that.

Fragrant to fruity to lemon to wood, How many smells do you own? Maybe a bleach to a chocolate vanilla, Maybe your smells are unknown. Do you burn them on sticks, or oil filled pots, Do you waft smoke all over the room, Do the smells help clean up all of those spirits, Leaving a beautiful plume? I wonder do your smells help you escape, Do scents invoke memories bygone, Do those scents trigger hormones for sexual desire, Are they a smelly turn on? Or do you use smells to attract other folks, A beautiful aroma packed bait, To hook the right person into your life, To find you a smell loving mate? We all love the smells we dissolve ourselves in, Making us more than we seem, They give us escapes, memories and desire, They give us a good self-esteem.

Fabulous musing on the topic! Scent is usually the last sense to go and the strongest memory invoker. Wonderful ink Lewis, a treat to read xomo
