This is really deep. How helpless it must feel to be under the pressure of an unattainable goal. Congratulations!

Thank you so much dear friend. Perfectionism chains so many hearts to an unattainable ideal. It is so different from the journey to become whole - to be perfected by our relationship with the Lord. Many blessings of joy to you and a hug!

Thank you so much Janice! The original poem deals with the way many women look at themselves in comparison to the standard of models and movie stars. It seemed to me they are prisoners of perfection. Hope you are well. All the best. Blessings! :)

Sam, this is so profound that it gave me chills. I just don't understand how parents, even ones who are perfectionists, can abuse their own children. I agree with John's comment below. This poem says so much in just four lines. A fave for me! Hugs, Carolyn

I am so honored by your fav and your gracious feedback. I think that while we strive for perfection it is definitely a double edged sword when yielded for the wrong reasons and often children are the victims! Thank you for your wonderful message. It lifts me up! Hugs and blessings to you!
