Pencil

a pencil, slender and sleek,
whispers secrets on the page,
its graphite tip, a dancer's toe,
tracing lines of thought, unencumbered.

it dances across the paper's stage,
twirling and swirling in graceful arcs,
a silent symphony of words and shapes,
unfolding the mysteries of the mind.

its lead, a conductor's baton,
conducting the orchestra of ideas,
scribbling melodies of inspiration,
in the language of graphite and wood.

oh, pencil, humble and unassuming,
you hold the power to create,
to give life to thoughts and dreams,
with each stroke, a world takes shape.

so let us cherish this simple tool,
this wand of possibility and expression,
for in its simplicity, it holds the key,
to unlock the wonders of imagination.

Thank you, Gershon. Anything can be the subject of a poem, even nothing. LOL

Hello Don, This is a wonderful celebration of the humble yet mighty instrument of creation. With eloquent imagery, you picture the pencil as a dancer, conductor, and magician, bringing forth worlds of imagination onto the page. I love how your words honor its ability to capture and convey the essence of thought and inspiration. It's a beautiful ode to the power of simplicity and the limitless potential of artistic expression. - Blessings, Daniel

Hello Daniel, thank you for sharing. Your words have captured my words quite well. My father always tried to teach me to see the beauty and power of simplicity. By the way, he was a poet, and it was from him that I first learned the art. Take care and thank you. Best, Don.
