Pearl

What of...A Pearl? 5-30-24 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pearl Born from irritation Errant seed, like a pebble in a sandal, Rubbing raw the soft heart in bruises Lustrous armor built around crumbs of discontent - A resume of overcoming ravished wounds From a jagged invasion to round perfection. A sly annoyance, nurtured, Grows into heroic neon hues Of black or white, cream, gold or pink Inside darkness, in stillness’ mystery, Deep within oceanic birthing swells A metamorphosis in the hands of grace. Through the stony crucibles’ selfless sacrifice Layers of harmony built from an unreachable itch Step out into tranquility, an opalescent retort, From lesions to beauty cultured from injury Flawless orbs revel in firstborn revelation To decorate innocence reborn.

How profound and meaningful! A grain of sand caught within causing severe irritation, in time, gets transformed into a priceless pearl. Every line in this poem proudly declares your ability to turn a trivial subject into a masterpiece. This is the best of your recent poems. "From lesions to beauty cultured from injury Flawless orbs revel in firstborn revelation". In the same way the lesions in our heart through endurance and tolerance can be transformed into triumphant laurels. Dear Sam, sweet friend, Congratulations on your win. This goes into my FAVE.

My Dearest Rhyme Time Friend, how beautifully you have woven the imagery and metaphors in this poetic masterwork. To make pearls out of grit, is to make sorrow and hardship a thing of beauty and your brilliant poem captures this lustrous transformation with exquisite elegance, eloquence and artistic finesse. Magnificence flows from your mighty pen with breathtaking results. Congratulations for your win in Craig's contest. Warmest wishes sent on opalescent rays of light.. ~Susan

My Dearest Rhyme Time Friend, each word in your beautiful note is a pearl to be worn in a necklace reflecting my joy and gratitude for your beautiful note of congratulations! Thank you sweet poetry sis! The beauty we see in each pearl comes from the "lustrous transformation" of sand in our sandals and pebbles in our shoes!" Your words are precious pearls - a gift indeed. It is one of life's ironies that our pearls come from our struggles as we layer each one in transcendent grace! Sending pearls on strings of blessings to you!

Dear Sam, you brilliantly explore transformation - the "errant seed" becoming "lustrous armor", emerging from "ravished wounds" into "flawless orbs" that "decorate innocence reborn" through grace's "oceanic birthing swells". You've exquisitely captured suffering's alchemy into transcendent beauty. A metaphor for resilience and creative metamorphosis. - Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

Hi Danny! I am deeply humbled by your amazing feedback. I have to say I would not be the poet I am today without PS! I have learned so much from my poet friends here on the site, from plunging into the contests, learning new forms and grappling with their challenges. I see so many of the qualities you mention in your writing and I hope you continue to flourish here in the soup. I like doing the backstroke! Sending you blessings and my gratitude!
