Texas Jews agree that they’ll hire
The kind folks who tough tasks won’t tire
So from Mexico
The illegals all know
Comes welcome without hostile fire

The solution was always there, Duke. Illegals? do they still call them that, aha immigrants have forever been doing the jobs that American youth can't handle. It was just a few weeks ago that " 6 immigrant workers drowned while working on the bridge, when a ship crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge! Not just Mexican, Salvadorian, Hondurian, etc......

Anaya, I love your comment!!! I actually wrote this particular limerick in 2007 and just republished it here. The politically correct term "undocumented" is what many prefer today. I would not restrict the workers from just Mexico, but from all countries where Mexico is the last stop on the way here. With all the anti-immigrant sentiment today, many don't realize that the horrible conditions which cause people to flee are the result of bad foreign policy decisions made by our government here. It's blowback from decisions made decades ago.

Thanks Mike. It is quite sad indeed. Hard to see how this ends well although there are diplomats here and in other countries trying to create some kind of acceptable solution. We hope reason will prevail!!!

Thanks SO, I wrote about this all a number of years ago....more than 10. And things seem to have gotten worse in the meantime. You are very kind in your comment. This was all meant to be satire when I first wrote it, but I'm starting to believe in my own crazy ideas. I haven't really heard anything better from anyone.

What a deep and profound limerick this is dear duke. You have found a solution for some problems that seems to have no solution in the eyes of politicians, while also voicing the need for peace and what follows after with such excellent rhymes that flow so well. Im always up for peace and supporting peace no matter what! Pleasure reading this. I hope things will get better for americans and all affected in the world today

IE, yes the world is in a bad state right now. The solutions seem so simple really. It's incredible to me how limited in thought many people are. It doesn't take much to fix these things if we're willing to discuss solutions that make sense.

The concept of resolving the immigration dilemma in the United States by utilizing the labor of immigrants to construct a wonderful environment, particularly in the Lone Star State. The advantages of peace leading to the building of a wonderful location, with an emphasis on employing Mexican immigrant labor, are central to your beliefs, which you articulated brilliantly.

SP, you are very kind. Peace would pay us such dividends. Hard to understand why something like this has not happened. Maybe we need to put Disney in charge and make it a tourist attraction too. There is so much to be gained on both sides. Even the opposing gods would support it!
