Peace In Nature

Took a short walk Down a long path Winding in curves, Seemed to be endless Greenery kept my eyes occupied And my mind busy With thoughts as rich as the color Summer winds, Press against my cheeks Flow through my hair And to whatever is next Approaching a pond, Murky waters Fish, birds, insects All taking interest in this pond A refreshing cleanse of the soul, Maybe I'll take a dip Strip off the world And enter a new one Where I am the outsider The stranger, Encroaching upon these lives Lay upon the bank Sunbathe Dreaming to be in this life To need water instead of air Lost in dreams Sudden to wake up, And walk my way back To reality.
