Siren-red hair, it screams from port.
Starboard aflame with twilight’s trance.
Intense Paulette ~ the sea’s consort.
Siren-red hair, it screams from port,
nudging the captain and his court.
Danger at dawn - high risk romance.
Siren-red hair, it screams from port.
Starboard aflame with twilight’s trance.

This is really excellent writing, mysterious and enchanting. "Red sky at night, etc.." . I come from a long-line of fishermen who sailed the Mediterranean. Great-granddad went down with his schooner, in the early 1800's during a storm. Read your bio, from Buffalo New York. I lived in Syracuse for a winter, back in the 60's. Syracuse was -27 with 54 inches of snow on the ground. Buffalo had a 120 inches on the ground. Talk about cold. Brrrr!

Thanks so much for sharing, Joe! I love every bit of your comment! We moved to the Hudson Valley when I was two but visited our family in Buffalo all the time.
