Pattern Poetry Contest

Pattern Maker

The pattern maker measures his guest
neck, shoulders chest, and breast, 
arms, back, wrist, waist, hips, 
pivots for darts on a block bodice 
drafts designer dupe requested
a choice rose-beige mini is invested
on paper made of parchment
a muslin fabric fit first garment

The dressmaker sews the formal
zig zags seam ends, snips as normal
finishing floral, attaching appliques,
the courtier knock off is complete        
I get out the chips and merlot
It’s time for the fashion show

I'm proud to say that I took 2,500 hrs of Fashion Design & Merchandising at an occupational center, great teacher, and some gals had so much talent. Hope our leader hasn't taken away these educational centers. I'm grateful, some can't afford private like FIDM, wink. 🙏

When my children were young every once in a while, I would have to make a pattern because maybe they were in between sizes and I could not adjust a pattern I had.
