Passing the Blame
With firm denial they will state
to their bewildered mother,
“I didn’t dirty up the floor.
It must have been my brother.”
The schools blame the parents and
the parents blame the schools.
They each claim it’s the other’s fault
the children break the rules.
The ball player blames another
for messing up his perfect shot.
The accused says that he’s lying
and charges will be brought.
Divorcing couples fight their battles
on the air and in the press,
each claiming that the other
is the cause of their distress.
Politicians love to blame
the opposing party for
the economic breakdown,
high gas prices and much more.
And so it goes through out our lives
we play the blaming game.
We say it’s all another’s fault,
we are so messed up and lame.
