Notes About The Poem

Man

PARTICLE MAN

The deep fault of the human race is that there are no individuals any more. ~ Søren Kierkegaard
Pixels in the machine it seems Articulating world schemes, twirled Reality for those addicted to a screen, Too timid into be seen in between ~ Inventions of mad men with intentions of perverting Common sense, it’s so passé Loving everything but Roget’s suggestions~ Even poems must have an ending! Menageries of words saying nothing, galleries of pixel Animations replacing animates en masse Nothing leftover for the poor, who don’t exist except in old picture books.

The entire poem captures moments of today, mankind and our reality. Your first thought says it all, ' Pixels in the machine it seems. ' Sad, indeed. Congratulations Chetta, on Poem of the Day. Hugs, Brandy

Congratulations on POTD Chetta! Insta 's mental health issue...The core claim is that the harm arises from third-party content that other people upload, instead that the platforms OWN the engineering & design side & make decisions based on these algorithms & system design. Constitutional protection(that the first amendment covered them, they are wrong.) It does matter what free speech says. Kcuf Zuckerberg :)

Thank you. Yes, ai/social media is taking away our ability of critical thinking. It is one of the reasons I like writing poetry; I have to think about every word I chose to use.

Congratulations Chetta on having received the honour for Poem of the Day. I remember the first time I saw someone walking around with a phone to their ear, it seemed so strange, now it’s the norm…. Beryl

Thank you. What was even more strange until I figured it out was people talking to themselves out in public, actually they were wearing earbuds and talking to a person in the phone.

I see yesterday in LA was the first time a jury has ruled that social media apps are "defective" and liable for addictive harms, now the floodgates are open for lawsuits, congratulations on a rather prophetic and well deserved POTD, the tide is perhaps turning, cheers David
