Part Time Poet
A line here, a verse there
Some days the cupboards bare,
A sudden flash of inspiration
Grab a pen, interpretation.
Have to be quick, no time to spare
Damn it's gone, (internally swear)
Coffee on, time to write,
But the kids start screaming, pillow fight.
But then you enter the sublime
You think you've found the perfect line,
But the doorbell rings, wouldn't you know it,
The frustrations of a part time poet.
