Part-time Fool
People lie to me about big things,
people lie to me about small things.
They lie about what's dear to me,
they lie about what doesn't bother me.
They speak highly of crooked beings,
they downplay important things.
I'm told half and no truths at all.
And like colors on a spectrum,
bright is passed as dull and off.
Big is watered down as relative,
where small has no relation.
They claim with authority,
yet they're responsible for a minority.
They carry my capacity in bits,
whilst telling how I'm a nitwit.
Not knowing,
I might be a fool, but I'm only a fool sometimes.
