Park

Look you, to the path Through the copse A soft floor of mulch Bushes tucked in clumps And across the vale And on out beyond You can just make out Park And the 7-Eleven

Funny, clever poem, Belden. The intrusion of the corner store on nature is a nice turn, indeed. Best wishes, Brian

Thanks Brian, My friend said it is Americana but the first line is from Hamlet ''—look you, this brave o'erhanging firmament.'' It is one of the few of mine that I can recite from memory so it gets a lot of mileage :D

... That's about right...! It becomes increasingly difficult to take ourselves conveniently to a place which feels untainted by man-made development..... Thanks for your succinct poinant observation, dear Belden.

I live so far back in the woods that we have to pipe in the sunlight. I have fond memories of walking with my cousins to the 7-eleven when we visited my grandmothers in the city. Would not want to live there. Thank you Sigrid.
