Parched Lilies

Who knew I'd be on the receiving end of silence? Searching for words, like a ghost trapped in its human house, ignorant - Left to wander back and forth, back and forth, forever now.. Bless the shadow heart, never knew it was hollowed out. But when you were my house, i left the doors and windows wide open, letting the spooks all in and the ghosts all out, and i am so sorry. A cactus loves the dry heat but you were a lily, and i soaked up all of your sun. I insist, let me sit under a rain more meant for you, and i'll soak that up too and watch you wither. We can wither together. I'll drown while you smother and we'll suffer until we don't anymore, until that fire smolders under the dryness and the rain. Baffled and broken and slaughtered are we. I should've never wondered, imagination keeps getting the best of me, and i let it destroy everything, and while you were playing hide and seek i was asking questions whose answers i was never meant to see, answers that were never meant for me, like why'd you creep and crawl and shrink and hide? Were those brown balloons a reflection for only me to see, or were you always defective and vacant inside, like the pits you left in me?
Time passes, forever now, and i'll pass with it and without you, with only the sky's water and the dry heat.
