Panther

scathing panther
amidst the lime brush
onyx he stands

black shade betrays
soft stunning silence
yellow eyes stare

eyes yellow jewels
a secret hunter
hungry to feasts

alert purring deep
as he watches red tail hawk
before chaos

Hard to believe that a panther would purr when the wildness, agility, and feral are conntained within its soul..Enjoyed reading your work..Very expressive, creative, and descriptive..Sara

Hi. Not to be redundant, but I find your use of imagery to be very alluring. The words definitely paint a mental picture combined nicely with a sense of sheer tenacity. I really like this one! Oh, I will put some of my other forms up in the next few days. I found your comments on my poem to be very gracious... thank you Jules! -Den
