Panic buying shoppers vying People lying not complying They’re so greedy others needy No chips or bread kids can’t be fed There’s no pasta pure disaster No toilet rolls For ‘our souls’ Pushers shovers think of others! We have been in lockdown for a little over a week, there was mass panic buying before the actual lockdown was implemented and the shelves were stripped bare as if by locusts in a field, it was 3 days before I was able to get a loaf of bread. Now everything is in stock and I've not had to queue for long with more than 3 people in front of me 01/15/21

Two major food chains deliver in 60 seconds which means that if you are perhaps cooking and forgotten some ingredient, it comes so very quickly you can whip up a dessert in between and hey presto your ingredient arrives. Love it, no queuing any more. Selfish people annoy me, it's blissful this way. Great write my friend. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer

The shortages began here last spring. It's still hard to find toilet paper sometimes and now it's hard to find meat/poultry. I read the line about "pasta" with a British accent and it does compliment disasta :) Panic seems to be growing again because vaccines are in short supply and most can't get them. Enjoyed very much! Hugs, carolyn

Lol ... must be the result of fear and the need for survival!! As for toilet paper, I wonder what they'd have done 60 years ago!! Hugs // paul

In such times people show their level of greed and always hoard more than they need.

Beware fear. Besides you have to be careful what to stock. Some fresh goods will go sour in time. You could bake your own bread you know, ~~

Oohoohoo! We've been in lock down for a long time now and I remember people swarming the stores and stocking up on toilet paper Seems like they would have been going for staple foods. Good job here. God Bless, JB

People go insane when they allow fear to rule judgement. You have expressed this well Jan.

‘Our Souls’ indeed... did you really think we’d all miss your outlandish ploy to beat the moderator. You should know by now... they’re not complete ‘our souls’. Nothing like real life to inspire the observant poet. Love it, Jan. Terry

Hi Jan, This took me back down memory lane, this is exactly how it was when Covid first came out last March. The shelves were bare and the lines were really long. Have a great day and weekend, my friend- Alexis

It was quite shocking Alexis, thankfully apart from distancing and wearing masks and hand hygiene in store then the shops are back to normal :-) hugs Jan xx

Same here Charlotte we had the panic buying last year but after we had 6 months of being covid free I never expected the same scenario. I'm told that pictures on facebook showed people with trolley's piled sky high. thankfully its a lot calmer now and I have only had to queue for a couple of minutes. oh drat I wont be able to enter your contests as I'm allegedly adept at porno poems lol:-) hugs Jan xx

These lockdowns have brought out the best in some people and the worst in others. A lot I blame the press for, don't panic buy and of course the selfish ones amongst us think of no one but themselves. I read of someone in the first lockdown bought loads of Toilet rolls hoping to sell them at a high price, of course there was no shortage and he tried to return them where he bought them, hats off to the manager who sent him packing. yeah i was chatting with someone in the queue today ( one person in front of me 2 folk behind me ) and we agreed it does bring out the best and worst in people. we took lots of shopping to elderly friends yesterday and again I was paid by the 'fishing net' we used last year lol:-) hugs jan xx
