Paint With Fire

Paint With Fire

Paint flies freely from his brush
As he paints he sees her blush
In both their eyes passion burns
Naked she poses her body turns
Temptation irresistible for her he yearns

With his brush he paints her red
In all her glory there on his bed
Textured skin a canvas extreme
Heaving, writhing, an artist's dream

Fire flows from his finger tips
In all her curves, his passion drips
Transformed into a work of art
Eternal pleasures, light and dark

For Andrea's Acrostic Contest.
I also used the first word in each stanza to spell out the title.

I enjoyed the uniqueness of this passionate and beautiful acrostic poem. Very nicely written and rhymed! Congratulations on your win, Richard! I think this should have placed a bit higher, though...

I love how you did this with the first word in each stanza spelling out the title as well, Richard!!! This paints a passionate picture, which I wanted to place higher but it bugged me that you spelled the word flys instead of flies. Congrats. I really like your poem.

thanks for showing me this, Richard. Some other judges also go by spelling rules, so if I had a weakness, I would ask a friend to proof a poem for me in a contest with spelling rules. Do you have a pen mate that can check those things for you? I was not leaving off my list good poems that had one or two errors. The ones at the top of my list truly were my favorites in both their writing style and in what they had to say. I have read some poems of yours that touched both my mind AND my soul very deeply. 'sorry if I offended you with my comment. I've always enjoyed your poetry.

That's unfortunate, if you read my book Dummy Hurting and Healing Words you might have a better understanding. There are certain words that regardless of how many times I use them my brain doesn't connect the dots. If not for the kindness of friends, a number of my poems would contain errors. My hope is that people can see beyond the technical and see into my heart.
